From working for the management of the London Underground, to managing a French Ski Chalet, Melissa Philip gathered a rare depth of client service experience while living the travel dream of her mid 20’s. It’s even where she found her future; meeting her husband and returning to Australia with him to build their boutique construction company. It was this insiders’ view of the industry, and the formidable work-ethic that comes with it, that saw Melissa head-hunted to bring her world of experience to the team at Buxton Hampton East.
Known for the composure, honesty and warmth she brings to her dealings with vendors and buyers alike, Melissa is dedicated to taking the hard work out of the process for her vendors - from the first inspection, to the final fall of the hammer. Adept at ‘sweating the small stuff’, so that her vendors don’t have to, Melissa has been described ‘as the calm in the storm’; recognising the gravity of the sale of her clients’ greatest assets, seamlessly taking the load, and keeping communications in context to allow her clients to focus on what matters.
Whether it’s ensuring perfect presentation, overseeing the accuracy of marketing materials, or managing vital documents, Melissa’s organisational skills are central to her calm approach. An excellent command of information technology means Melissa‘s life runs around diarised appointments and rapid communication via vendors’ and buyers’ preferred platforms. However, she’s quick to admit that her days revolve around a tried and true old-school approach; where every morning starts with a written list and every evening ends with a tick beside each item!
A Queenslander by birth, Melissa chooses to spend her downtime on the beach and to live by the bay – a choice that has seen her family renovate and resell homes across Highett and the beachside suburbs. With a husband hard at work in the construction industry and two teenage daughters at school locally, it’s no surprise that Melissa is an expert manager of family time as well. Juggling school and sporting commitments (both girls are keen footballers with lifesaving, netball and soccer added to the mix), the family’s work/life balance revolves around an active life…and real estate activity!
