Moving from studies in interior design to working with one of Australia's largest rental specialists, Ruby Walker started out at the grass roots; inspecting properties, connecting with renters, and completing condition reports to guarantee oversight and facilitate maintenance. Requiring an eye for detail, an ability to manage relationships and a keen sense of urgency, this role became the basis of Ruby’s disciplined management approach.
A highly trained eye and a strongly proactive approach are at the heart of Ruby’s success, as she manages issues before they become problems and solve problems immediately they arise. However, Ruby says it's the insight into managing the relationship between renters and rental providers that is the most important skill taken from her earliest days.
Starting out in the industry on the frontline (and sometimes on the back foot), Ruby has a strong appreciation for the power of a win-win. At the heart of everything Ruby does is a strong desire to eliminate conflict, build trust and manage with respect. Dealing with renters on their home-ground, she is experienced at raising flags, putting out fires and focusing on the best outcome for her clients and their assets.
For Ruby, a good day is one in which a clear and positive resolution is achieved; whether that's an issue with a tenant that has been bubbling away for weeks or a quick call to eliminate a worry for landlord. It’s this positivity and proactivity that has seen Ruby become a property owner at a particularly young age. Brought up in a family where buying, renovating and building wealth through property was standard practice, Ruby now makes sure her hard-won and much-appreciated expertise works for her!
