AGENTS AT HOME

In our new column, Agent Life: The Lockdown Edition, we catch up with our Buxton agents to find out what they've been up to in Stage 4 lockdown, how they think Melbourne's real estate landscape will look on the other side, and their hot tips for buyers and sellers in the post lockdown market.

We kick off with Buxton Hampton East Director and Auctioneer, Noel Susay, who's found a brand new perspective on work and family since going into Stage 4 lockdown.

How will lockdown help you as an agent?

It’s given me the opportunity to reflect on and connect with my work and family. It’s enabled me to work on how I can be better in my profession. I haven’t taken six weeks off ever but I’ve still managed to dedicate 2-3 hours a day to connect with my clients to make sure I’m there for them.

How will lockdown help the industry?

As a network Buxton owners have met up via zoom regularly to discuss ways we can help each other. This sharing of intelligence will enable us to be innovative and serve our staff and customers better.

What’s your hot tip for buyers and sellers post lockdown?

For sellers it’s to get in before Christmas, and when JobKeeper ends in March as there will be more uncertainty around the economy.

For buyers it’s to take advantage of the lowest interest rates in history.

What’s been the upside for the industry?

The innovation and technology that potentially as an industry we didn’t take advantage of has now never been as important as it is. As an industry we have been able to reflect on how we can better serve buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants.

What’s your prediction for the post lockdown market?

There will be a positive sentiment and prices and activity will be strong. I have seen an increase in buyer and tenant enquiry which to me shows an appetite to transact.

Who are you in lockdown with?

My fiancée, two young sons and mother in law. We all live together in Mordialloc.

What’s one thing you really took for granted Before Lockdown?

My young sons miss their friends so I’m looking forward to seeing them happier.

What’s one thing you’ve learned about yourself during lockdown?

I have learnt that I’m very lucky to live in Australia! We have such a wonderful life here.

What’s your favourite lockdown activity?

Home schooling my sons and family exercise. We try and ride together everyday.

Describe your lockdown routine.

Home school my sons two days a week, exercise, 2-3 hours on the phones to clients each day, cook lunch and dinner twice a week and on Saturdays we all watch a movie together.

Where’s the first place you’ll eat?

There are so many places I can’t even start.

Where’s the first place you’ll travel?

We have a holiday house in Gippsland that we haven’t been able to go to. Cape Paterson is such a lovely place to visit so we as a family can’t wait!

What’s on your Spotify heavy rotation?

I’ve taking the opportunity to listen to podcasts. I love True Crime and Business shows. Music wise Hip Hop.

What shows are you hammering on Netflix?

Why women kill and Yellowstone have been favourites.
