Based on proximity to schools and education facilties, public transport, parklands, a beach or river and the CBD, the REA have combined their own data with that of the ABS to rank Australia's best lifestyle suburbs.
Unsurprisingly, sunny Brisbane’s inner city dominated the Top 10 with South Brisbane, Dutton Park, Spring Hill, Kangaroo Point, Corinda, Indooroopilly and Fortitude Valley taking out seven spots.
Albert Park and Port Melbourne came in at number 7 and 9 respectively.
The village vibes of St Kilda West—the pocket suburb that's not-quite-St-Kilda, not-quite-Middle-Park—came in at number one. 100% of residents of the leafy, beachside suburb are close to schools and education facilities, and every home is within 500 metres of a park. The transit time to the CBD is 18 minutes by car or 29 minutes by public transport and residents are lucky enough to have the beach merely minutes from their doorstep.
