Buxton Chelsea and Aspendale Lifesaving Club unite for seventh annual Club2Club Swim

Buxton Chelsea proudly reaffirms its partnership with Aspendale Lifesaving Club for the seventh consecutive year, culminating in the eagerly anticipated Club2Club Swim event on Sunday, 11 February.

This long standing collaboration underscores Buxton Chelsea's unwavering dedication to community engagement and the promotion of vital services.

The Club2Club Swim has firmly established itself as a highlight in the Bayside area's event calendar. Drawing participants from as far as Italy, the 1.8km open ocean swim from Edithvale Lifesaving Club to Aspendale Lifesaving Club has garnered significant attention. This year's event boasted a record-breaking turnout, with all 315 participant slots filled, selling out three days prior.

On the day of the swim, an impressive $20,000 was raised, reflecting the overwhelming support of the community for Aspendale Lifesaving Club's vital training programs, equipment acquisitions, and other essential resources. These funds play a crucial role in the club's mission to promote swim safety and education throughout the community.

Over the past seven years, about $42,000 has been raised by Buxton Chelsea, directly benefiting lifesaving equipment, training, and essential first aid supplies.

Buxton Chelsea’s auctioneer and sales agent James French said their involvement transcends real estate.

"Our collaboration with Aspendale LSC extends beyond mere sponsorship, it's a genuine community partnership aimed at effecting positive change,” she said.

"As a team, we take pride in supporting the endeavors to promote swim safety and education.

“Our involvement goes beyond real estate; it's about being an integral part of the community, building genuine relationships with the public and continuing our commitment to a great cause."

Some swimmers have participated in more than  20 consecutive Club2Club Swim events. Notable participants include a traveler from Italy, who travels specifically for the event, staying two weeks before and after. The fastest time recorded was 19 minutes, achieved during this year's event. Plans are underway to accommodate 400 swimmers next year, with the planning permit already amended.

Buxton Chelsea eagerly anticipates continuing its collaboration with Aspendale Lifesaving Club, making a lasting impact in the Bayside community for years to come.
