The awards recognise and honour design excellence in the City of Port Phillip, an area renowned for its locals love for their neighbourhoods.
“This year’s Design Week theme, Design Effects, recognises the importance of design excellence and thoughtful development in balancing growth and maintaining the unique character of diverse and distinctive neighbourhoods," says City of Port Phillip Mayor, Bernadette Voss.
I can't think of a more relevant theme for Port Phillip as we are very proud of our much-loved neighbourhoods and have pledged in our long-term vision to do our utmost to keep our City's character as Port Phillip continues to grow."
The Mayor's Choice Award went to Port Melbourne's Maritime Cove Community Park. Other category winners included Acute House in Albert Park for Residential Dwelling, Elwood House for Multi-unit/ Mixed Development, Six Degrees' highly acclaimed Albert Park College Environmental Arts Hub and the iconic Palais Theatre for Heritage Conservation.
