Family, Trust, and Working Together: How Buxton Real Estate Builds Success from the Inside Out

At Buxton Real Estate, success isn’t just measured by transactions or awards — it’s deeply rooted in family values, mutual trust, and shared growth. Across the network, mothers and their children are not only building rewarding careers, but also strengthening the ties that bind them, creating a culture where family, tradition, and innovation thrive side by side.

Family-first values have been part of Buxton’s DNA for more than 160 years. Today, this ethos is brought to life by the many mother-son and mother-daughter duos who lead by example, proving that when family and business come together, something truly special happens.

Whether following in their parents’ footsteps or forging their own paths within the company, Buxton's family teams embody a unique spirit — blending experience, fresh perspectives, and shared dreams to help clients find their next home or investment.

For Managing Director Holly Longmuir and her son Jackson at Buxton Mornington Peninsula, their professional partnership has become a journey of shared growth and mutual respect.

"I’ve been in real estate for a long time, and I had developed a particular way of doing things," says Holly. "But working with Jackson has opened my eyes to a broader way of thinking — the way his generation communicates, learns, and approaches relationships is very different, and it’s challenged me to adapt and evolve."

Jackson, a fourth-generation real estate professional and Sales Associate, brings his own fresh perspective to the business.

"Growing up, I saw Mum thriving in real estate, but it wasn’t until I started my career that I realised just how male-dominated the industry could be," he explains. "That experience made me even prouder of her — and seeing the industry change now, especially at Buxton, makes me proud to be part of it."

Their collaboration is built on honest conversation and shared values, both in the office and outside of it.

"We have open discussions about everything — life, politics, real estate," Jackson says. "We learn from each other every day. Friday is our ‘practical day’ where it’s hands-on learning, problem-solving, and sharing experiences."

"Working with Jackson has challenged me to be a better leader and a better listener," adds Holly. "And, selfishly, it’s allowed me to spend time with him in a way I missed when he was younger. It’s made both our professional and personal relationships stronger."

Over in Carnegie, Administration Manager Rose Dragojevic and her daughter Lily Dragojevic, Head of Marketing at Buxton Glen Eira, bring a dynamic balance of experience and innovation to their roles.

"We both have our strengths, and we respect them," says Rose. "I’ve been in real estate for many years and have seen a lot of change, but seeing Lily take the lead on new initiatives and processes fills me with pride."

"Mum and I share an office and work very closely together," Lily explains. "It’s a very collaborative environment. I feel comfortable seeking her advice when I’m setting up something new, and because we know each other so well, we can communicate quickly and honestly."

Their connection extends beyond the office walls."The car rides to and from work have become our brainstorming sessions," laughs Rose. "It’s given us a whole new layer of communication and understanding."

"Working together has made us even closer," Lily adds. "Living together, working together — we’re seeing each other in a whole new light, and it’s only made our bond stronger."

Meanwhile at Buxton Chelsea, Sales Consultant Jarrod Amor and his mum, Kelly Amor, Director and Head of Property Management at Dingley Village and Chelsea, have taken a slightly different approach — balancing independence with family support.

"When Jarrod decided to join real estate, we agreed that it was important for him to have his own space and build his own reputation," says Kelly. "We treat each other like colleagues at work — and that respect has strengthened both our professional and personal relationships."

Jarrod credits much of his professional growth to the foundation his mother helped instil.

"Mum’s advice about work ethic and organisation has been invaluable," he says. "Even though we don't work side-by-side every day, knowing she's there if I need guidance has made a big difference to my confidence and my growth.

Their experience shows that in real estate — and in life — family support comes in many forms.

At Buxton Sandringham, Daniela Amato and her daughter Siena Tosin bring a sense of energy, positivity, and professionalism that lifts their whole office.

"When Siena joined Buxton at just 20 years old, I was amazed at how quickly she picked up complex systems and adapted to the demands of the role," says Daniela. "Watching her thrive has been one of the proudest moments of my career."

For Siena, the learning has gone both ways.

"Working with Mum has taught me the importance of detail, compliance, and doing things properly," she says. "But she’s also taught me that it’s important to enjoy the work and have a laugh along the way."

Their relationship, already strong, has been further deepened by their time working together.

"Mum’s work ethic and attention to detail are amazing," Siena continues. "But I’ve also seen how she supports the whole team — not just me — and that’s something I really admire."

"She’s helped me stay grounded while still having fun," Daniela says warmly. "I’ve learned from Siena too — she’s helped me relax and not be so hard on myself."

Mother’s Day holds special meaning for each of these teams — but at Buxton, family values aren’t reserved for a single day of the year.

"Family is important to us every day, not just on Mother's Day," says Kelly Amor. "It’s the way we support each other in the business, in life, and across the entire Buxton community."

"Working together every day makes me appreciate our relationship even more," says Siena Tosin. "It’s made me realise how lucky I am."

At Buxton Real Estate, working with family isn’t just about tradition — it’s about mutual respect, support, and building a future together, every single day.
