We have your guide to the must-see attractions, towns, and must-do activities.

Torquay
Angelsea

Torquay

Torquay is the official start to the Great Ocean Road and is home to the world-famous Bells Beach—undeniably Australia’s surfing capital. Torquay holds some of the best beaches, cafes, and shops in the shire.

After a visit to some of the best surf shops and lunch at a local cafe, you can make your way down to one of Torquay’s famous surf beaches, where you can find their superstar instructors to teach you how to surf who will have you standing on a board in no time! See the friendly staff at the Visitor Information Centre to find out more.

There are also many family-friendly beaches, including the patrolled Torquay Back Beach. For more information on beaches in Torquay, visit Beach Safe

Angelsea

Angelsea is known for its native animals, plant life and walking tracks – it is your one-stop shop to a day of adventure!

If an ideal summers day to you is taking a walk and enjoying nature's beauty, look no further than the numerous walking tracks and trails such as a walk through Coogoorah Park, Angelsea Heath or Angelsea Art Walk where you can experience the joy of unique mosaic art works. Don’t forget to stop off at Angelsea’s main beach for a dip as well!

Aireys Inlet

Aireys Inlet is one of the coast's oldest settlements which has grown around the famous split point lighthouse into a beautiful holiday destination with breathtaking scenery.

From snorkelling to rockpool rambling, Aireys Inlet has some of the best areas to make the most out of the water, such as Eagle Rock Marine Sanctuary, Sunnymead, Sandy Gully and Step Beach. You also cannot miss the opportunity to take a trip to the Twelve Apostles which are a central feature of the Port Campbell National Park.

Lorne

Lorne is the place to enjoy the natural beauty of Victoria and take the family for a day of adventure.

After a relaxing morning at Lorne’s main beach, you can make your way to Teddy’s Lookout where you will enjoy the breathtaking views of the Great Ocean Road and then make your way to Erskine Falls, one of the most popular falls in the Otways.

Whether you are a local to the Surf Coast Shire or a Melbournian wanting an unforgettable day trip, you will not regret making your way down the coast and enjoying all it has to offer.
