We Love Local: Green Cup

Green Cup

LOCAL BUSINESS

The last few months have been a shock to the system as we have wrangled our normal routine and lifestyle into lockdown. But we can almost say goodbye to iso, and hello to our ability to once again leave the house and enjoy everything that our amazing local hospo guns have to offer!

On June 1st cafes and restaurants can start to seat a limited number of patrons, with that number to slowly increase as we test the waters of going back to our pre-iso lifestyle. Local favourites, like Green Cup, will once again become a place where you can catch up with friends and enjoy the socially distanced company of others, something we have all been dreaming about doing over the last few months!

To give us the lowdown on what we should be ordering, what their team are looking forward to once the restrictions are all lifted, and how we can continue to support them and other local businesses, we spoke to Natalie Guest, Owner of Green Cup.

How long has Green Cup been open in South Yarra, Armadale and Hawthorn?

South Yarra – 5 years

Armadale – 4 years

Hawthorn – 1 week!

Covid-19 has had a huge impact on the hospitality industry, and it is really positive to see that the restrictions are gradually lifting. What are you most looking forward to once the lockdown restrictions have been lifted?

We can’t wait to be able to serve people in store again. Our customers love making Green Cup a meeting point to catch up with friends.

If someone has never been to Green Cup before, what smoothie is a must-try, and what acai bowl would you recommend they order with it?

Our two most popular items are our signature green smoothie – THE GREEN CUP 1: Spinach, kale, banana, Strawberries, Blueberries, Spirulina, Mesquite, Chia, Date, Coconut Water. It’s a nutritional powerhouse which will it deliciously satisfying.

Our best selling bowl is the appropriately named Go To Bowl. It’s a perfect blend of frozen acai and banana topped with our house made peanut butter, strawberries, banana and cacao nibs.

How can locals show their support and stay connected with Green Cup moving forward?

We’d love to see our customers back in store plus all of our neighbouring business like Happy Melon, Studio PP and One Hot Yoga. And we’d especially love them to try out our new Hawthorn store which now serves coffee!
