You Wish: The Boyd Residence

LUXURY LIVING

Got some spare cash lying around? Australia's most expensive apartment has just hit the international market with a casual price tag of $66 million.

A passerby would be forgiven to think Sydney's ANZ tower was just another downtown office building full of bankers doing the corporate grind. But unbeknownst to pretty much everyone in the world, a tri-level, 2000 sqm penthouse has been secretly hanging out there since 2015. The dramatic luxury home, embedded into the crescent-shaped apex of the tower, is the only apartment in the building, 43 levels up from the street and accessed via a private carpark and express elevator. Glass walls and double height ceilings give the home a grand scale unseen elsewhere in Australian architecture.

The Art Deco-style interiors by renowned designer, Blainey North, includes 4 bedrooms (each with a marble bathroom), a champagne wall (yes, you read that correctly), cigar room, club-like study, gymnasium, conference room, rooftop pool, two terraces, a cabana room, a louvered 'winter garden' and 200 pieces of bespoke, privately-commissioned furnishings including the largest custom made rug in the southern hemisphere. Oh yeah, there's also the spectacular view of the Harbour and all its landmarks if that's your thing.

In 2017, the home took out the prize for the world's finest residence at the International Design & Architecture Awards. Watch the video above, you have to see it to believe it and if you actually DO have $66 million and are keen as,  head over to Christie's International for all the details.
