You Wish: Motu Tane, Bora Bora

LUXURY LIVING

In this week's edition of You Wish (aka 'Homes no one can afford'), we take a look at Motu Tane, just a quick boat ride from the main island of Bora Bora. Just to be clear, Motu Tane is an entire private tropical island, not just a house.

Sprawled over 10 acres of white, sandy beaches, coconut groves and tropical foliage, the resort-style property consists of 22 structures including 2 master luxury suites each with a sunken lava bathtub, shower and dressing area, 9 beachfront bungalows and 2 suites for up to 20 guests. There's also a library containing Polynesian art and artefacts, a photography studio, a chef's kitchen and 2 staff quarters.

The bungalows are decked out with bespoke furniture crafted from rare tropical wood and natural fabrics, and are fitted with motorized screens to bring the outdoors in or provide protection from the weather.

At 2,500 square feet, the main communal area or 'great room' is surrounded by gardens, has a wet bar, and an adjacent dining room with two custom-made tables to seat 36 guests. I don't even know 36 people, let alone the 20 who'll be crashing in one of the beach front bungalows.

Sounds like an absolute dump...said no one ever.

If you're keen as and have US$42,000,000 to spare, head to the Pinnacle List for the full details. And if you DO happen to buy it, just remember the povvo writer of this article who put you onto the listing in the first place and reward her with a stay at your new private island. Thanks.
