Deeply connected to the region, Ryan is focused on building solid foundations — for the business, its people and the community he’s always called home.
What’s your personal connection to the neighbourhood?
I was born and raised in Geelong, went to school and university here, and it’s always been home. My family is still based locally, and now I’m raising my own family here as well, so my connection to the area runs pretty deep.
Professionally, I spent time working in Melbourne, which gave me broader experience and perspective, but coming back to Geelong was always the goal. There’s something about the community, the lifestyle and the people here that you just don’t get anywhere else — and being able to build both a career and a family in the same place means a lot to me.
How has your career led you to the role today?
My career started in finance, where I developed a strong focus on structure, performance and understanding how businesses operate behind the scenes. Over time, that evolved into a broader role — not just looking at the numbers, but helping shape strategy, improve processes and support people across the business.
That progression into leadership has been a natural step, allowing me to combine financial discipline with a bigger-picture approach. Today, I’m focused on driving sustainable growth, building strong teams and putting the right structures in place so the business can continue to improve and perform long-term.
