What’s your hot tip for buyers and sellers post lockdown?
Be prepared. There will be listings and buyers. So for vendors get the home perfectly presented and have your photography booked asap to ensure you capitalise on the “sugar rush” of buyers which will eventuate. For buyers, ensure your finances are approved and perhaps even have sales contracts reviewed now prior to inspecting if they are available.
What’s your prediction for the post lockdown market?
I think there will be a spike in activity from sellers and buyers. This is the first time in my life we have been told that you can’t do something and I think a lot of buyers will be out to secure their real estate future with their first purchase. Owners will also be evaluating if their current home is where their future is. I think a lot of owners will be assessing whether they can move to the country or beach and work remotely.
Who are you isolating with?
I am with my wife Charis, as we all as my two children Anders and Lucia who I have both had birthdays under stage 4 restrictions and Betty our superstar black Labrador.
What’s one thing you’ve learned about yourself during lockdown?
That while I thought I was efficient, I can streamline my weeks to ensure I can spend more time at home.
What’s your favourite lockdown activity?
Playing on the trampoline with the kids. A trampoline turns everyone into an 8 years old and it takes you back. I have loved creating new games, watching the kids learnt tricks and dunking all over the kids on the little basketball hoop!
What’s the first thing you’ll do post lockdown?
I have really missed the little things. Just catching up with a mate for a beer at a local pub, easy dinners with family and friends. I am also looking forward planning some more day trips around Victoria to go and explore a little more as I have seen enough of the neighbourhood for a while.
