Eat Streets: Mordialloc

Main Street

Welcome to one of Southeast Melbourne’s best foodie strips, Main Street Mordialloc. Do a deep dive into the delicious cafes and restaurants of Mordi and find out where the food lovers eat in this wonderful seaside haven.

A Mordialloc local and our resident area expert, Christopher Rae of Buxton Mentone, gave us some insight on what it's like to live in arguably one of Melbournes best coastal suburbs, and be surrounded by fun, food and a fabulous lifestyle.

"I love the true lifestyle of Mordialloc. There is so much on offer. Living right near the beach and also having Mordialloc Creek, to launch the boat and head out into Port Phillip Bay is great. The train station, shops and beach are all close together."

Chris being a long-term local says that "Mordialloc has grown up so much and yet it has not lost its character and feel as a seaside fishing village. There are so many cafes, restaurants and bars to head out to and enjoy. Depending on where it is a formal outing or just a social gathering, there is something to fit the occasion. There is also a plethora of recreational activities available in Mordialloc. Walking tracks, both along the beach or along the Mordialloc Creek. Heaps of sporting clubs that would accommodate any sporting desire"

We also note that a fan favourite of Mordialloc is that everything you could possibly need is in walking distance, so are you ready to do some restaurant hopping? Pop on your walking shoes and let's dive into some of our favourite places to eat!
