It is probably safe to say December is a favourite month for most, not just because of the good food, drinks, gift giving and company to be had on Christmas day but because of the brilliant show some areas in Victoria put on for the locals!
Here is your guide to some of Victoria’s best Christmas lights, displays and events:

BALLARAT

Ballarat’s CBD has come alive this Christmas with a new art trail, the city’s beloved decorations plus live music, roving entertainment, arts and crafts, and much more!

The Christmas Art Trail features unique artworks by local artists, you can follow the trail through the CBD, snap a selfie with Santa, pat the reindeer or stand under the mistletoe. You can see the popular floral reindeer and sleighgiant shooting starcrystal star plus the giant bauble in the Bridge Mall and don’t forget the special Albert Street green space (between Parent Place and Grill’d), you can take a peek inside Santa’s workshop or get crafty at one of the free kids’ workshops throughout December (bookings required).

So why not get down to the Ballarat CBD for some food and a whole lot of Christmas spirit!

Geelong is making Christmas extra special this year with an offering of new activities alongside their traditional favourites!

There is nothing like driving through your local neighbourhood at night checking out the Christmas lights some homes have put on for their neighbours. There is something super special about seeing the magic of Christmas through lights.

If you, like us, are a sucker for some pretty lights and brilliant displays, herea are the best streets, houses, and areas you do not want to miss this December.

  • 2 Lance Close, Aspendale Gardens
  • 5 Dunsterville Street, Sandringham
  • 3 Dalmont Street, Highett
  • Vialls Avenue, Parkdale – Venture down around the Bay to Parkdale and you won’t be disappointed. The number of houses getting involved on Vialls Avenue grows every year. It’s also worth skipping a couple of blocks over to Cedric Street and check out the seven houses on show.
