Our Q1 Quarterly Awards: Momentum, Meaning and What’s Next

As the year gathers pace, more than 300 of our team came together for a gathering that truly mattered. It was a moment to pause, reflect and reconnect, while setting our sights on what’s ahead. Carousel came alive as we celebrated the achievements of the quarter and strengthened the shared sense of unity that continues to define our culture.

Opening the day, CEO Marcus Williams thoughtfully framed the year so far, acknowledging the momentum building across our network and what’s driving us forward. Mark Nunn, our MC for the event and Director of Buxton Ballarat, brought warmth and energy to the room, presenting the awards and recapping the experience for winning this year’s season of The Block alongside contestants Britt and Taz.

The Speakers Who Inspired Our Team

Beyond celebrating outstanding performance, the day also created space for perspective, connection and forward thinking. Our speakers challenged us to look beyond the numbers, reflect on the impact we create and consider how we continue to evolve as individuals, teams and as a collective.

Geelong Venom – Alissa Pili & Ben Riddle

Ben Riddle, our Geelong Group Director, shared the evolving story of our partnership with Geelong Venom, a women’s basketball team championing the rise of the sport locally and nationally. Alissa Pili followed with a candid account of her journey from Alaska to Geelong, shaped by resilience, family and an unwavering drive to succeed. Her ambition for the team to make finals captured the spirit of the day.

Buxton Insight Exchange: A Considered Shift Towards Progress

Holly Longmuir, Director of Mornington Peninsula Group, offered a thoughtful glimpse into the early momentum of the Buxton Insight Exchange, reflecting on how we continue to elevate diversity and challenge unconscious bias within our industry. Not through noise, but through intent. A quiet commitment to creating space where everyone is supported to learn, perform and grow.

Amanda Stevens: Customer First, Always

Closing the day, customer experience specialist Amanda Stevens reminded us that in an age of AI and automation, human connection is our true differentiator. Practical, energising and grounded in insight, her session reinforced the role we play in shaping meaningful experiences for every client and community we serve.
